FAQ

Why should I buy my kitchen cabinets from Walcraft?

At Walcraft Cabinetry, we are here to serve and not to be served! Our company DNA is centered around providing the highest level of service possible and a willingness to always go the extra mile for our customers. As a “people before profits” business, we do not make decisions based upon what is best for our bottom line. We make decisions based upon what is best for our customers and our employees. With this in mind, when you choose to work with Walcraft Cabinetry to buy cabinets online, you can rest assured that we will work with you, and for you. Our ultimate goal is to provide you with the best possible experience.

What is our hottest seller?

Hands down it’s white shaker kitchen cabinets. White shaker cabinetry is a great choice for those looking to modernize and freshen up their space. It is versatile, bright, and creates a stunning look in any style of kitchen.

What are Ready-to-Assemble (RTA) cabinets?

RTA stands for “Ready to Assemble”. RTA Cabinets are known for their quality, affordability and ease of use. The RTA cabinets listed on our website are all KCMA Certified, solid plywood with full overlay and soft close features. Shipping is considerably less than assembled cabinets and assembly is easy, making them much more affordable than the earlier traditional cabinet and vanity products.

Can the "average Joe/Joann" really assemble and install RTA cabinets?

Yes, they can and they do every day! While we offer how-to videos on our website, we can also give you helpful tips, as needed.

What are the main differences between our RTA cabinets and our Assembled cabinets?

Besides the obvious which is that pre-assembled cabinets come shipped to you fully assembled and ready for installation, there is absolutely no difference in quality. Due to the extra labor involved in assembling your cabinets and extra cost to ship them, your overall price will be around 20%+ more than RTA cabinets depending on your location and the size of your order.

Why is buying cabinets from Walcraft better than buying them from Big Box stores?

Aside from our stellar customer service, our RTA cabinets are up to 40% less expensive than Big Box stores (and other pre-assembled cabinets up to 30% less), for a more solidly-built product. Other features our cabinets have, that very often big-box-store cabinets do not, are adjustable shelving and deep drawers.

What is the difference between the cabinets that Walcraft sells and custom cabinetry?

In many instances our cabinetry quality can be significantly higher than custom cabinetry. Often custom cabinet makers spray finishes on their cabinets in small shops in an uncontrolled environment, rather than a high-end finishing facility like our cabinets. This means the finish on our cabinetry is often MUCH better, and smoother. It’s true that custom cabinetry gives you a wider variety of choices but they also take a lot longer to build and have a higher price tag. Due to our cabinets being built in a factory, they are sturdy and well engineered with high-quality standards. Simply put, Walcraft cabinets are built to last.

Are the cabinet doors solid wood?

Yes, the cabinet doors, drawer fronts and face frames are constructed using ¾” hardwoods that are chosen for their lasting durability..

Do Walcraft cabinetry products contain any particleboard?

There is absolutely no particleboard contained in our cabinetry. We do not compromise on quality nor work with manufacturers who do. Particle board is a compromise.

Why is the center panel MDF?

Since solid wood tends to expand or contract over time, it can cause small cracks in door joints. Using MDF in the center panel avoids or minimizes wood expansion or contraction, leaving your cabinets structurally sound for many years.

What is the turnaround time after an order is placed?

We do our best to get your cabinets to you as quickly as possible. Normal turnaround time is 7-21 days. If you need your cabinets “yesterday”, please contact our team at 888-547-5573 and let them know so they can expedite things for you.

Is having a free kitchen design done by Walcraft important?

Yes, it is important for many reasons. Wouldn’t it be awful if you ordered cabinets online and once you got them delivered, you didn’t like the color or found that they didn’t fit properly. These disasters can easily be avoided by utilizing our free kitchen design service. One of our friendly and knowledgeable kitchen designers will guide you through the entire design process to ensure that your new kitchen will be amazing.

Are accurate measurements for my kitchen design important or can I just ballpark it?

It’s important to take the time to precisely measure your kitchen so that our kitchen designers can make sure your new cabinets will fit properly into your space. Our designers can also give you an accurate cost estimate if your measurements are precise. Please refer to our kitchen measurement videos on how to measure your particular type of kitchen.

What are the benefits of using Walcraft’s CGI design services?

If you are uncertain of how your completed kitchen will look and feel with your new cabinets, then this is a VERY affordable solution to your problem. A CGI image is a completely lifelike rendering of what every detail of your kitchen will look like. Many online cabinetry companies offer “photo-realistic designs” for free. CGI is a huge step above that. By choosing to see your kitchen in CGI, you will be able to see how your tile looks with your cabinets and countertops, and how the flooring pairs with all the other fixtures. No surprises, just success!

Will the cabinet finish stand up to the cleaning products I use in my kitchen ?

Yes. Your RTA cabinets are coated with Sherwin Williams conversion varnish that is specially formulated to protect wood from moisture and everyday household cleaners.

Is there any type of guarantee?

Yes. Walcraft Cabinetry hereby warrants to the original buyer, for residential or personal use only, that all products are in good condition both in material and workmanship. Warranty will start counting from the day the product is delivered to your home/delivery address. The warranty period for all of our cabinet lines is a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Walcraft Cabinetry has the right to decide whether a product is replaceable or repairable, and no new labor is required for the removal of the damaged cabinet, as well as the replacement of the new product.

The warranty offered by Walcraft Cabinetry does not cover defects brought about as a result of improper handling, installation, storage, assembly, extreme temperatures, and modifications to the product. We are also not liable for damages caused by accidental misuse, fire or water, intentional damage, harsh abrasive chemicals, acts of nature, as well as usual wear and tear.

Cabinets feature natural wood which often varies in color texture or wood grain. Subtle changes can happen over time. We consider these variations as natural. Hence, they are not covered under our warranty program.

Small surface cracks on painted and stained cabinets is considered normal and not a defect. Typically, these cracks are seen on door and drawer faces where vertical wood meets horizontal wood. This is common to all types of cabinetry and is not considered a defect or warranty item.
